Some Anisotropic Viscoelastic Green Functions

چکیده
In this paper, we compute the closed form expressions of elastodynamic Green functions for three different viscoelastic media with simple type of anisotropy. We follow Burridge et al. [Proc. Royal Soc. of London. 440(1910): (1993)] to express unknown Green function in terms of three scalar functions φi, by using the spectral decomposition of the Christoffel tensor associated with the medium. The problem of computing Green function is, thus reduced to the resolution of three scalar wave equations satisfied by φi, and subsequent equations with φi as source terms. To describe viscosity effects, we choose an empirical power law model which becomes well known Voigt model for quadratic frequency losses.

Plane waves in anisotropic viscoelastic media
Two concepts of plane waves in anisotropic viscoelastic media are studied. One of these concepts allows for the use of methods based on the theory of complete Bernstein functions. This allows for a deeper study of frequency-domain asymptotics of the attenuation function and timedomain regularity at the wavefronts. A relation between the direction of the energy flux density and the attenuation v...
متن کاملGeneralized Fractional Derivative Anisotropic Viscoelastic Characterization
Isotropic linear and nonlinear fractional derivative constitutive relations are formulated and examined in terms of many parameter generalized Kelvin models and are analytically extended to cover general anisotropic homogeneous or non-homogeneous as well as functionally graded viscoelastic material behavior. Equivalent integral constitutive relations, which are computationally more powerful, ar...
متن کاملAnalytical Simulations of Optimum Anisotropic Linear Viscoelastic Damping Properties
In a previous paper (Hilton & Yi 1992), a systematic study was undertaken to determine how shapes of relaxation–time functions affect damping characteristics of isotropic viscoelastic materials. The significant parameters were the instantaneous and fully relaxed moduli (Regions A and E on Fig. 1), the two “knees” (B and D), the central slope (C) and anisotropic shift functions. The sensitivity ...
متن کاملMotion of Particles Settling in a Viscoelastic Fluid
In this paper, we will attempt to extract some principles concerning the flow-induced anisotropy which develops in the settling of particles in Newtonian and viscoelastic fluids. Our point-of-view is that the local microstructure, which is determined by the hydrodynamic interactions between neighboring particles, determines the global anisotropic structure of a fluidized suspension. The particl...
متن کاملTwo New Non-AFR Criteria for Depicting Strength Differential Effect (SDE) in Anisotropic Sheet Metals
The issue of pressure sensitivity of anisotropic sheet metals is investigated with introducing two new non-AFR criteria which are called here linear and non-Linear pressure sensitive criteria. The yield and plastic potential functions of these criteria are calibrated with directional tensile/compressive yield stresses and directional tensile Lankford coefficients, respectively. To determine unk...
